Day Four: God is good all the time. All the time God is good.

Today was our second work day. We got to the church about 8 AM and picked back up where we left off yesterday. One group got to go to a local elementary school this morning and participate in an assembly for the entire school (about 680 kids). We performed a song, taught the kids the words and hand motions to the chorus of "Pharaoh, Pharaoh," and performed a skit about Moses. At the end of each scene, we had the kids sing the Pharaoh chorus with us. The kids enjoyed us being there, but it was funny that the smaller children really got into singing with us while the older kids (13 to 14 year olds) stood and looked like they were too cool to get into it. Funny how kids are the same all over the world. After the assembly, we went to each classroom and handed out smiley face rings to the children. Maddie got to hand rings out to all of the kids her age and she really enjoyed that. The school didn't allow me to take photos, so I don't have any to share with you. I think Zac summed it up best when he said "That was so much fun and those kids were so stinkin' cute!" It was a wonderful experience.

During the work day, the ditch was dug out a little more, more of the church was painted, the rebar project was finished, and more dirt was moved.

Because the crusades started tonight, we broke from work about 3 PM and came back to shower, change, and eat supper before going back to the church for the crusade. When we got back to camp, the Internet was working after being out for 4 days. The "Internet Cafe" was filled with people on touchscreens connecting back to Texas and our reveal worlds. Nothing like having the Internet in a hammock in Belize, let me tell you.

After supper, we went back to the church for the first night of the crusades. We sang a number of fun songs with Rev. Kofi and his tambourine, Wesley led a couple of songs, and Kip preached.

The crusades are part of what I really like about these trips because the attendees are filled with passion for God. It is so neat to see that no matter where you are from, the love for God causes us to speak the same language.

Kofi always says "God is good" and the people respond "all the time.". He then says "all the time" and the people respond "God is good." What an awesome thing to remember!

PS. Here is proof that I really am on this trip. Please note the matching sunburns.
